WSOP Latest as of Right Now – March 2023

Verona, Nevada – On Thursday, the World Series of Poker returns to Verona for the second time in history, after a successful Circuit stop at the Turning Stone Casino, where players eagerly sought out WSOP action after years of Circuit absence.

Between March 16 and March 27, the series will feature 16 ring events and over $1 Million in guarantees, with similar fields expected this week. The action kicks off on Thursday with two events, both with guaranteed prize pools. First up is the $400 No-Limit Hold’em Double Stack, a one-day event starting at 10 AM. Later in the afternoon, Flight A of the $400 No-Limit Hold’em event will commence. Players can choose from four starting flights in the second event, with flights B and C starting on Friday at 10 AM and 4 PM, respectively. Flight D will start on Saturday at 10 AM, and all survivors will return for Day 2 on Sunday to determine a winner.

Last year, the Turning Stone Main Event attracted 891 players and generated a total prize pool of $1,349,865. Local player Joseph Rice emerged victorious, capturing his second ring of the series and the $238,870 top prize.

The Main Event will start on Thursday, March 23rd, with Flight A beginning at 11 AM, followed by Flight B on Friday with the same starting time. The third and final Flight will begin on Saturday, with players allowed to re-enter once per flight. A prize pool of $500,000 is guaranteed for the Main Event, and the winner is expected to take home a six-figure payday, a Circuit gold ring, and an automatic bid to the “Tournament of Champions.”

Scheduled events include two Senior Events (March 19 & March 26) and one Ladies’ Event (March 24), as well as highlights such as the $400 Monster Stack, the $600 Black Chip Bounty, and the $1,700 MAIN EVENT.

All official gold ring winners from this WSOP Circuit stop will qualify for the invitation-only “Tournament of Champions,” a $1 million freeroll event to be held during the 2023 World Series of Poker tournament in Las Vegas. Additionally, 2023 Online winners will be eligible to compete in the signature event.
